Adding an IPS authorized application

The process of adding an IPS authorized application varies depending on whether your environment is configured to conceal the client secret. If the secret is not hidden, then you must specify a user ID for the authorized app. If the secret is hidden you must specify an employee ID instead.

The option to conceal the secret is configured in the Authentication configuration. See "Authentication configuration" in the Infor Public Sector System Administration Guide.

  1. Select System > Security > Authorized Applications.
  2. Click the IPS tab.
  3. Click Add above the grid.
  4. Specify this information:
    Name
Specify a name for the authorized application.
    Access User
This field is shown if the environment is not configured to hide the client secret. Specify a user ID. The authorized application will use this user ID for access control.
    Employee
This field is shown instead of the Access User field if the environment is configured to hide the client secret. Use the popup to select an employee. The authorized application will use the user ID associated with this employee.
    Client ID
The client ID for the authorized application is generated automatically.
    Secret
The secret for the specified client ID is generated automatically.

If the environment is not configured to hide the client secret, you can click the Regenerate link to create a new one.

If the environment is configured to hide the client secret, the full secret is shown when you add a new authorized app, but it is masked when you open an existing authorized app in the InfoViewer. The Regenerate link is not shown when you add an authorized app, but you can reset the secret in the InfoViewer.

See Resetting the secret for an IPS authorized app.

  5. Click Save.
