Adding a part to a single-part stock location

These steps explain how to add a part to a location that only allows a single type of part. Some locations allow multiple parts. If the stock area does not have any locations defined, you can stock a part without a location.

See Adding a part to a stock location.

Note: You can also use the Part InfoViewer to change a part's location.
  1. Load the stock area you want into the Stock Area InfoViewer.
  2. On the Information tab, ensure that the Multiple Parts Allowed Per Location check box is clear and the Locations Required for Stock Area check box is selected.
  3. On the Locations tab, under Locations in this Stock Area, enable editing in the grid and click Add.
  4. In the Location field, type an identification code for the stock location according to your agency's naming scheme.
  5. Provide any other information about the stock location.
  6. Specify the identification code for the part in the Part # field.
  7. In the Unit of Issue field, specify the type of units the stock is issued in, such as in boxes or on pallets.
  8. In the Qty per Unit of Issue field, specify the number of parts in each unit of stock, such as 20 parts per box.
  9. Under Order Information and Associated Information, specify any other information about the part.
Note: The ordering information that you specify applies to all parts of this type in the stock area, regardless of location. If you update the ordering information for the part in one location, such as changing the reorder level, then it will be updated for all other locations within the same stock area.
  10. Click Save.
Infor Public Sector closes the dialog box and shows the location in the Locations in this Stock Area grid.
