Associating an asset with a part

If a part in your inventory is required for the maintenance of your assets, you can use the Part InfoViewer to associate the part with the assets and specify the number of parts to be used for a single asset. For example, if you stock oil filters in your inventory, you may want to associate the filters with the vehicles that use them.

  1. Load the part you want into the Part InfoViewer.
    You access the Part InfoViewer by clicking the Part # link for the part on any form that shows the link.
  2. On the Assets tab, click Add above the grid.
  3. Enter your search criteria at the top of the popup to locate the assets you want to associate with the part.
  4. Click Search.
    Infor Public Sector shows a list of assets that match your search criteria.
  5. Select all the assets that you want to associate with the part and click Select.
  6. In the Quantity field, specify the number parts to associate with each selected asset.
  7. Provide a brief description of how the parts will be used with the asset in the Usage Description field.
  8. Click Save.
    Infor Public Sector closes the popup and shows all the assets you selected in the Associated Assets grid.
