Attachments

You can use the mobile app to add attachments to records in Infor Public Sector, such as service requests and inspections. You can take a photo or video with the mobile device's camera, or you can select one or more existing files from the device.
Note: Attaching video files requires Infor Public Sector April 2022 or later in the back office. It is not supported if you are using Infor Field Inspector with Infor Public Sector 11.1.

To add an attachment in the mobile app, open the record, select the Attachment tab in the record viewer, and tap the Attachment button (three vertical dots).

  • To take a photograph and attach it to the record, select Capture Image.
  • To take a video and attach it to the record, select Capture Video.

Each photo or video that you capture will be attached to the current record in Infor Public Sector.

If you are using Infor Field Inspector with Infor Public Sector 11.2.0.2107 or later, your system might be configured to also save attachments to the gallery on the mobile device.

Note: There is one known limitation in the Windows version of the app. When you select Capture Image or Capture Video, the camera window that opens is only about one third the size of the screen. You can manually resize the window, but you must resize it every time you open it. Due to a limitation in the UWP SDK, there is no way to change the default size of this window.
  • To add an existing photo, select Select Image.
  • To add an existing video, select Select Video.
  • To attach multiple files, select Open File Manager and select the files that you want to attach.
Note: There are some limits on the ability to attach multiple files in iOS. This functionality is only supported in iOS 14 and after, and you can select a maximum of 30 files to attach at one time.

These are the supported file extensions for image and video attachments:

  • .avi
  • .bmp
  • .gif
  • .jpeg
  • .jpg
  • .mp4
  • .png
  • .wmv

In addition to the file types listed above, these types of files can be attached from the file manager:

  • .doc
  • .docx
  • .pdf
  • .ppt
  • .pptx
  • .txt
  • .xls
  • .xlsx
Note: In iOS, .bmp files uploaded from the gallery are automatically converted to .jpg files. Other types of files can be viewed in the mobile app if they were attached to a record in Infor Public Sector.
