Clearing data

As you work with the Infor Field Inspector app, various kinds of data are downloaded to your mobile device, including app metadata, authentication data, and work records such as service requests and work orders. At times you may need to clear some of this data to free up space on your device or to refresh your local records.

You can also use the mobile app to clear the metadata cache on the Rest Services application server.

Note: The option to clear the metadata cache is only supported if you're using Infor Field Inspector with Infor Public Sector 11.2.0.2010 or later.

To clear data from the device, you can use the mobile app's development tools. Select Settings from the mobile app menu and then select About on the Settings page. The list of development tools is displayed when you tap the Infor icon in the middle of the About page.

You can use these tools to clear data from your device:

  • Clear Cached Maps: Removes any maps that have been downloaded.
  • Clear Authentication Data: Removes authentication data from the mobile device.
  • Clear Work Data: Removes downloaded work records such as permit inspections and service requests.
Note: There is one situation in particular where you may need to clear work data. If you use the mobile app on more than one device, and you delete a record from one device, you may find that the deleted record still appears on the other device. In that case clearing work data from the second device will remove the deleted record. You can then resynchronize your records. This is a known limitation.
  • Clear Application Content: Clears all content that has been downloaded from the mobile services to the local device.

To clear the metadata cache on the server, select Clear Metadata Cache in the development tools. Because you're clearing data from the server, this option is only available when you are working online.
