Working with assets

Several types of records that you work with in the mobile app, such as work orders and asset inspections, affect assets in your inventory. You can view the affected asset records in the asset viewer. If you are using Infor Field Inspector with Infor Public Sector October 2022 or later, you can also add new assets as needed.
Note: You can only add simple assets from the mobile app, not network, segment, or linear assets.

In the asset inspection viewer, tapping the asset ID for an inspection opens the asset viewer directly. In other viewers, such as the work order viewer, tapping the asset field opens the Asset Search, which you can use to locate assets and open them in the viewer. Depending on your profile, you can also open the asset search form by tapping the Search for an asset query under the Assets grouping in the menu.

The asset viewer in the mobile app provides limited functionality for working with assets, but you can edit basic structural information such as the pipe type and shape of a sewer main. You can also tap the Action button in the asset viewer to create a service request, work order, inspection, or case for the current asset.
