Adding standard code violations

The standard code violation functionality is used for all planning, project, use, and license inspections, and for building and case inspections if your agency has not enabled the improved code violation functionality.

See Adding improved code violations.

  1. Open the inspection in the mobile app.
  2. Select the Violations tab in the inspection viewer.
  3. Tap the Add button on the Violations tab.
  4. Select the check box for each violation that you want to add.
You can use the lookup field at the top of the screen to search for code violations based on the violation code. You can also tap the Action button and select Advanced Search to see additional search fields.
  5. Optionally, tap the camera icon to add a photograph to a code violation.
Tapping the icon opens the camera on the mobile device. You can then take one or more photos and attach them to the selected code violation.
Note: There is one known limitation on the camera in the Windows version of the app.

    See Attachments.

  6. Tap the Add Code Violation button.
The app shows the Add violation(s) popup and sets the violation date to the current date and time.
  7. Specify the code violation information as required.
You can record the status of the code violation, add comments, and enter details about the location of the violation.
  8. Tap OK.
