Queries

The mobile app uses queries to show lists of work records to be completed, such as a list of inspections assigned to the logged in user. When you first log in, the app shows either the default query or the last query that you viewed. You can use the menu to select different queries to view.

Selecting queries

In the menu, queries are organized into groupings such as Inspections and Permits. When you select a grouping, the menu shows the queries that belong to that grouping. You can then select the query that you want to view. The selected grouping and the query are highlighted in the menu.

Parameters

If a query requires parameters, the app shows a popup when you select the query. For example, the Open Permits by Street Name query requires a Street Name parameter. To view the query, specify the parameter value and tap OK. The menu then shows the current value of the parameter to the right of the name of the query. You can tap on the parameter to change its value.

Note: By default, query parameters require exact matches. For example, if you specify "Main Street" as your parameter, but your agency has abbreviated "Street" as "St," no matches will be found. The search method for query parameters depends on your agency's configuration.

Sorting

Each query has several sort options defined for it. The options are displayed under Sort by in the menu. For example, the My Inspections query can be sorted by scheduled date, street name, or work type. To change the sort order for a query, select the new sort order from the menu. The order that you choose will remain as the default for that query until you change it.

Filters

If the current query has filters, they can be accessed through the Filter button on the home screen. Selecting a filter shows a subset of query items that match that filter. For example, an inspection query may contain both scheduled and unscheduled inspections. If you only want to see the scheduled inspections, tap Filter and select Scheduled. Select None from the filter list to remove the filter.

Favorites

You can manually select the records that you want to shows by marking them as favorites. First, tap the star on each record in the query results that you want to show. The color of the star changes to blue to indicate that the item is selected. Then tap the Favorites button to show only those records. Tap Favorites again to return to the original view.

Refreshing queries

Tap the Refresh button to refresh your query results. This will remove any completed items from the list. In addition, the app will download any new work assignments and show them in the list.
