Annotations

Infor Public Sector GIS supports annotations using ESRI ArcGIS Server. If annotations are configured, users can mark up the map with their own drawings and notes. For example, planners might want to draw a parade route on the map, or city engineers might want to mark the locations of new street lights.

Annotations can also be linked to records in Infor Public Sector, such as addresses, assets, or building applications. Users can then look up and show annotations based on the records that they're associated with. For example, a drawing of a parade route might be linked to the use permit application for the parade.

To enable annotations for your agency you must complete two main steps.

  1. Set up an annotation feature service in ArcGIS Server. Annotations are stored in the GIS map services as map features, so you must set up a service to manage the data.
  2. Configure the annotation tool, using the MapDrawerDatasets configuration in the Configuration Editor.

You must also set up access for the annotation tool in Access Control.

After the annotation tool is configured, you can open it by selecting Drawings from the Tools menu in the Map Browser. The annotation tool is displayed as a popup window with several tabs.
