Group attributes

The GROUPS node can have one or more Group nodes as children. Each Group node associates multiple layers or datasets for access rights. Each group is shown as a profile item in the drop-down list on the Layers tab.

Note: After a group is defined, the group ID must be entered in the groups attribute of the appropriate dataset to associate that layer with a group.

Each Group node can have these attributes:

Attribute Description
accid Access ID for this group. The access ID is a unique number that identifies the permission in Access Control that users must be granted to gain access to this group.
base Base group that the current group inherits from. A new group can inherit the layers from one or more parent groups.

For example, you may want to create a new group, 03, that combines the layers from group 01 and group 02 without changing either of these existing groups. This could be accomplished by assigning the values of 01 and 02 to this attribute.

display Descriptive name of this grouping to show to the user. Shown as the user profile. Examples are Land Managment, Engineering, and Public Works.
id Unique identifier for this layer group.
