Adding trade wastes

Trade waste services are used to bill customers for the disposal of waste materials, either through the sewer system or by delivering them to a waste disposal facility. If wastes are delivered, you can use the Manage Account page to record each delivery so the customer can be billed for it. The charge is typically calculated by weight, and may also involve sampling of the waste for different chemicals, for which the customer might be charged different rates.

See Trade waste services.

  1. Select Billing > Manage Account.
  2. Load the account you want.
  3. On the Maintenance tab, under Account, click Add Trade Waste.
Infor Public Sector shows one of two links, depending on the type of trade waste service. For a quantity- or value-based service, Infor Public Sector shows the Add Trade Waste link. For a consumption-based service, Infor Public Sector shows the Add Trade Waste Samples link. The Add Trade Waste link can also be displayed in the Quick Links panel on the Summary tab.

    See Adding trade waste samples.

  4. Specify the vehicle registration for the carrier or the trailer that delivered the waste.
Although the Carrier Registration and Trailer Registration fields are both marked as required, Infor Public Sector only requires you to specify a registration number in one of these fields. Note also that these fields both draw from the same list of vehicle registration numbers.
  5. Specify the gross weight of the delivery.
Infor Public Sector automatically fills in the tare weight of the vehicle specified in the Carrier Registration or Trailer Registration field, and calculates the net weight by subtracting the tare from the gross.
  6. Specify the vehicle's arrival and departure times in the Arrived and Departed fields.
If the arrival or departure time falls outside the agency's normal operating hours, Infor Public Sector indicates that a late fee may apply and shows the Late Fee Amount and Late Fee fields so you can charge the fee if necessary.
  7. Under Location Information, specify the codes for the facility and area where the waste was delivered, and any additional notes about the location.
  8. Under Waste Information, specify the origin of the waste, the employee ID of the officer handling the delivery, and any other details.
  9. Specify each type of waste being delivered in the Waste Types grid.
You can select from the waste types specified for the account's trade waste service.
  10. If the agency charges for trade waste based on samples, specify the sample information in the Sample Results grid.
  11. Click Save.
