Merging linear assets

  1. Select Asset Management > Assets > [asset module].
  2. On the tab for the correct linear asset type, under Configuration, click Merge "Asset" Tool.
  3. Specify this information:
    Merge "Asset"
Specify the ID of the first of the two assets being merged.
    With "Asset"
Specify the ID of the second asset.
    New "Asset"
Specify an ID for the new asset.
    Maintain "Asset" History
Select if you want to maintain a record of the asset structure before the change. Three records are added to the TOOLHIST (LinearToolHistory) table: one for each of the assets merged, and one for the new asset. Each record includes the starting and ending measurements of the asset, the date the assets were merged, and a description of the change. You can view a history of each asset and the affected data in the InfoViewer.
  4. Click Finish.

Infor Public Sector expires the two original assets and merges them into a single new asset record. The start of the first of the two original assets becomes the start of the new merged asset, and all measurements along the second of the original assets are adjusted by the length of the first asset.

Infor Public Sector also adds history records for all affected work orders, inspections, and service requests. Because these records represent historical events rather than asset characteristics, their measurements aren’t adjusted.
