Importing inspections

When you import inspections from the Access database, Infor Public Sector updates the existing inspection records with the imported data, then removes the associated observations and attachments and recreates them using the data from Access.

Depending on the EDM provider that you're using, the attachments might also be deleted from the EDM system. Attachments using IPS providers will not be deleted, but attachments in other systems might be. If there are errors with attachments, Infor Public Sector adds warnings to the logs but does not halt the import.

  1. Select Asset Management > Assets > [Asst Module].
  2. On the correct asset type tab, under Asset Inspections, click Import Inspections.
  3. In the Import Database field, specify the name of the Microsoft Access database from which you are importing inspections.
  4. Click Load.
The inspection data is loaded from the import database. The Information tab shows basic information such as the inspection type, the export date, and the group inspection number.
  5. Select the Inspections tab.
On the Inspections tab, the Completed in IPS column shows which inspections have been completed, and the Imported column shows which inspections were previously imported.

The Inspections With Load Errors grid on the Inspections tab shows inspections in the Access database with validation errors. Inspections with load errors cannot be imported until the errors are fixed.

    See Inspection import validation.

  6. In the Select Inspections to Import grid, select the inspections that you want to import.
  7. Click Run Import.
