Expiring an asset

If you want to deactivate an asset record without deleting its history, you can expire the asset. The asset's history remains on file for you to access, but the asset can no longer be used in Infor Public Sector. You cannot create any new records that reference an expired record.

Note: When you expire a record, Infor Public Sector uses the current date as the expiration date. Records expire at midnight on the expiration date, so the record will still be active in the system until the next day.
  1. In the appropriate asset lookup, look up the asset that you want to expire.
Note: You can also use the Action button in the asset InfoViewer to expire an asset.
  2. Select the correct asset in the Lookup Results grid.
You can select more than one asset to expire.
  3. Click Action and select Expire Asset.
A dialog box is displayed showing the current date as the expired date. You can change this date as required. Your employee ID is displayed in the Expired by field.
  4. Click OK.
Infor Public Sector expires the asset record. The record remains in your system but is no longer available for use in Infor Public Sector. If you want to reinstate an expired asset, you can activate it.
