Setting up attachments on a separate server

If you're using an IPS provider, you can store your attachments on a separate server from the Infor Public Sector application files. For example, you might want to set up a separate file server for your attachments to save space on the application server.

When you add an IPS provider in Infor Public Sector, the virtual directory where the attachment files are stored is specified in the Location Path field. To store attachments on a separate server, use a UNC path such as \\myserver\attachments when you add your virtual directory in IIS. The network share can be on any server or storage device with a registered DNS name.

You can then add a provider in Infor Public Sector and specify the virtual directory in the Location Path field. The attachments for the catalog will be stored in the network share that the virtual directory points to.
