Copying attachments

You can migrate attachments to a multi-tenant environment by copying them from an IPS provider in the on-premises environment to an IDM provider. Copying attachments is not supported for other types of EDM providers.

Attachments are migrated by document type. You can specify one or more document types in one or more IPS providers and copy them to specified document types in the IDM provider.

Copying attachments is a batch processing task, so the Batch Manager must be configured and running.

Note: Currently only one instance of the Copy Attachments task can run at a time. This means that if you initiate the process to copy one set of attachments, you cannot initiate another copy process until the current one is completed.
  1. Select System > Administration > System Information.
  2. Click SaaS Migration and select Copy Attachments.
  3. Specify this information:
    To IDM Provider
    Specify the IDM provider to which the attachments will be copied.
    Validate-only
    Select this check box if you only want to validate the attachments, without copying them to the IDM provider.
    Verify Files
    Select an option to indicate when the copy process will verify that the attachment files exist in the IPS provider. You can select one of these options:
    • During Validation: Files will be verified before they are copied, in a separate validation step.
    • When Copying: Files will be verified as they are being copied.
  4. Specify one or more document types that will be copied from an IPS provider.
    To specify a document type, click Add above the grid and specify this information:
    From IPS Provider
    Specify the IPS provider from which the attachments will be copied.
    From Document Type
    Specify the document type in the IPS provider that will be copied.
    To Document Type
    Specify the document type that will be assigned to the migrated attachments in the IDM provider.
  5. Click Run.
