Refreshing your applications

You can use the System Information page to refresh your applications.

For example, you might need to refresh Infor Public Sector before configuration changes take effect.

Note: The options to refresh applications from the System Information page were originally introduced to support refreshing applications in a multi-tenant environment, where you don't have access to the application server. They are currently also supported in an on-premises environment if you are using SQL Server as your database provider, but not Oracle.

To refresh your applications, select System > Administration > System Information, click Action, and select one of these options:

  • Refresh All Applications: Refreshes all applications.
  • Refresh IPS: Refreshes Infor Public Sector.

When you refresh Infor Public Sector, a message is displayed saying that refreshing the application will log out all users. Click Yes to continue. You will be logged out when the application refreshes, and must then log back in.

  • Refresh Rest Services: Refreshes Rest Services.
  • Refresh Web Services: Refreshes Web Services.

There might be a delay before applications are refreshed. An application will remain idle until it receives a request to do something, and at that point it will check to see if it needs to restart. If so, there will be a delay of up to 30 seconds. This means that the request that the application received will fail, but subsequent requests will succeed with the restarted application.

Note: You might see a "502 Bad Gateway" message after refreshing applications. This is because your browser hasn't been refreshed, so you can correct this by refreshing your browser manually.

You cannot refresh Infor Public Sector if a compilation process is running. Examples of compilation processes include rebuilding formulas and synchronizing metadata in the Schema Manager. Only one compilation can run at a time, so the Refresh IPS item in the Action menu is not available if a compilation is in progress. The System Information page displays information about the type of compilation process that is running, the user who started it, and the progress.
