Configuring single sign on for selected users

Note: Before you can set up users, you must configure Infor Public Sector for single sign on.

You can configure single sign on in bulk, either for an entire group of users or for selected users in the group. Infor Public Sector automatically creates a new user account for each Windows user.

  1. Select System > Security > Single Sign On Manager.
  2. In the Domains tree, browse to the group containing the users that you want to set up for single sign on.
  3. Click the "Group" node.
Infor Public Sector shows a grid on the right listing all the users in that group and their login information.
  4. Select the users in the group that you want to set up for single sign on.
  5. Click Action and select Bulk Add Selected Users.

Infor Public Sector shows a list of all the users in the group and information on the status of their user accounts, such as that their Windows user name is already associated with an Infor Public Sector user, that an Infor Public Sector user will be created, or that an Infor Public Sector user already exists. Only users without Infor Public Sector user names are included in this process.

You cannot proceed if Infor Public Sector user names already exist or have already been assigned for all selected users. If some of the user names exist, you can still proceed with setting up the users who do not have an Infor Public Sector user name.

  6. In the Password field, type a password that will be applied to all new Infor Public Sector user accounts that are created.
  7. Type the password again in the Confirm Password field.
  8. Click Next.
Infor Public Sector saves the user information and shows the Role Information tree, which shows a hierarchy of the different roles within your agency. A role identifies the general job function of a user.
  9. In the Role Information tree, browse to the roles that you want to assign to the selected users and select them.
  10. Click Finish.
Infor Public Sector saves the information and closes the Single Sign On Manager. For the Windows users in the group that didn’t have Infor Public Sector user names, Infor Public Sector assigns an Infor Public Sector user ID that is the same as the Windows user name. For example, if a user’s Windows login is DaveR, the Infor Public Sector login will also be DaveR. The newly created users are also assigned the password specified above and granted the access permissions associated with the roles that you selected in the Role Information tree. From now on, users in this group will bypass the login screen when opening Infor Public Sector. You can now look up the new users and add the users to additional roles in Access Control.
