Conflict resolution rules

Data conflicts can occur if a GIS mapping uses bidirectional syncing (the geometry sync direction is IPS << >> GIS). When a data mismatch is detected, the sync process normally checks which value was changed since the last synchronization, and syncs that value to the other source. But if the same field was modified in both databases at approximately the same time, or if the modified time can't be determined, the sync process cannot determine which value to use. The records are in conflict.

The Conflict Resolution Rule field indicates what you want to do when conflicts occur. You can select one of these options:

  • Manual Intervention: The conflict must be resolved manually. You can use the Lookup Sync Audit form to resolve conflicts.
  • Use Internal: The value in the Infor Public Sector database will be used.
  • Use External: The value in the GIS database will be used.
  • Last Record Modified: Whichever record was modified more recently will be used.
