Overview

Infor Public Sector includes extensive GIS capabilities. You can connect your Infor Public Sector database to your GIS, and you can then use the map interface to work with location-based records such as addresses, parcels, and assets.

You can also display GIS information in the asset InfoViewers, and you can use the GIS Data Miner to show GIS information on detail pages.

There are two different versions of the map interface. The Map Browser is a global map interface, providing access to records throughout the system. Various forms also have their own Map Drawers, which focus on particular types of records. For example, Lookup Addresses has a Map Drawer that you can use to view address information on the map.

The basic map interface is the same in all cases, but the actions that you can perform depend on the context. In addition to searching for and viewing records on the map, you can perform actions such as associating addresses with parcels, or creating service requests and work orders.

You will need to keep your Infor Public Sector database in sync with your GIS, so Infor Public Sector includes tools that you can use to manage this process. You can map Infor Public Sector components to GIS layers, and you can use the Batch Manager to synchronize records between the two data sources based on these mappings. The synchronization process compares the two datasets and can update records in either database as needed.

Infor Public Sector GIS supports ESRI ArcGIS, and can also connect to various other providers under the OGC standard.

Note: The GIS synchronization tools only work with ESRI ArcGIS providers.
