Creating a work order for a service request

If the request type allows it, you can create a work order for a service request. You can also use the Associations tab of the Service Request InfoViewer to associate an existing work order with a service request.

  1. Open a service request in the Service Request InfoViewer.
  2. Click the Action button and select Open a New Work Order.
  3. Specify the activity code for the work order.
If a default activity code is associated with the request type, that activity is displayed automatically. You can also specify a standard work order in the Standard Work Order field.
  4. Click Next.
The Assets at Service Request Address grid shows a list of assets at the service request address. If the asset you want is displayed in the list, you can select it. Otherwise you can specify an asset on the next screen.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Specify the work order information. If you didn't select an asset on the previous screen, you can specify one here.
  7. Click Save.
Infor Public Sector saves the work order and links it to the service request. When you open the service request in the InfoViewer, Infor Public Sector will show the work order in the Associated Work Orders grid on the Associations tab. Resource usage for linked work orders is also displayed on the Resource Usage tab of the Service Request InfoViewer. The identification code for the current service request will also be displayed in the work order record.
