Creating a job estimation

  1. Select [CDR module] > Application > Job Estimation.
The Job Estimation form is available for the Building Permits, Project, and Use Permits modules.
  2. Specify this information:
    Name
Specify a name for the job estimation. If you start an application based on this job estimation, the name will become the application's default A/P name.
    Application Type
Specify the type of application for which you are creating the job estimation. You can only specify an application type that is set up to use job estimation.
    Declared Valuation
Optionally, specify the cost of construction as declared by the applicant.
  3. Add one or more job estimation details.
    1. Click Add above the Job Estimation Detail grid.
    2. Load the valuation setup that Infor Public Sector will use to calculate the cost of the job estimation detail.
Click the popup button to the right of the Use Group, Construction Type, or Modifier field, select a valuation setup, and click Select. Infor Public Sector automatically fills in the use group, construction type, modifier, and multiplier from the valuation setup.
    3. In the Building Area/Unit field, specify the item's size or quantity.
    4. Click Save.
To calculate the valuation of this item, Infor Public Sector multiplies the value in the Building Area/Unit field by the selected valuation setup's multiplier and modifier. Infor Public Sector then closes the dialog box, adds the job estimation detail to the job estimation, and shows it in the grid. Infor Public Sector also updates the total calculated valuation of the job estimation.
  4. Click Save.
Infor Public Sector saves the job estimation and shows a message that the estimation has been added. Infor Public Sector also shows the estimation's identification number, its name, and any estimated fees that your agency will charge based on the estimation. You can click the Name link to view and edit the job estimation in the Job Estimation InfoViewer. You can also create another job estimation by clicking Start a new estimation and following the current instructions, or start an application based on this job estimation by clicking Start application with this job estimation. If you start an application based on this estimation, Infor Public Sector carries over the job estimation details as valuation details for the application.
