Associating other applications or cases

You can associate related application records to make them easier to manage. You can associate a building application with another building application as either a parent or child. You can also associate building applications with applications, cases, and licenses from other CDR modules. For example, an elevator that required a building permit for its initial installation might also require a use permit to manage periodic inspections and maintenance.

To associate a parent building application you can use either Lookup Applications or the Application InfoViewer.

  • In the lookup, select the correct application, click Action, and select Associate a Parent Building Application. Then specify the identification number of the parent application in the Parent A/P # field and click Save. You can select multiple applications in the Lookup Results grid to associate them all with the same parent.
  • In the InfoViewer, select the Related Records tab and specify the parent application in the Parent Building Applications grid.

To associate one or more child building applications, select the Related Records tab in the InfoViewer and specify the child applications in the Child Building Applications grid.

To associated other applications, use the Other Applications and Cases grid on the Related Records tab of the InfoViewer. Select the correct CDR module from the Product Family list, specify the application number, and click Save. In the lookup, you can also click Action and select Associate a Project or Associate a Planning Application.
