Defining a building inspection type

You can define an inspection type under the Activities and Fees node or under a milestone node. When you define an inspection type under Activities and Fees, you can associate it with the milestone at which Infor Public Sector adds the inspection. When you define an inspection type under a milestone node, Infor Public Sector automatically associates the inspection type with that milestone.

Note: The Location field in an inspection record can be used to further differentiate inspection types. For example, the same application might have multiple Electrical inspections, each with a different location, such as Kitchen, Basement and North Wall. Infor Public Sector considers these as three different inspections, instead of reinspections of the same type.
  1. Select Building Permits > Setup > Application Workflow.
  2. In the Application Types tree, browse to the Inspections node under Activities and Fees or under a milestone.
  3. Click Add above the Inspections grid.
  4. Specify this information:
    Inspection Type
Specify a name for the inspection type. The name must be unique within the application type but can be reused in other application types.
    Description
Enter a description of the inspection type.
    Add On
Specify the milestone at which the inspection type will be added to applications. If you leave this field blank, the inspection type will not be added automatically but can be added manually.
