Duplicating a budget

If you want to create a budget that shares information with an existing budget, you can start by duplicating the existing budget. For each new budget, you can decide whether you want to duplicate the existing budget's allocations, budget numbers, both, or neither.

  1. Load the budget you want into the Budget InfoViewer.
  2. Click Action and select Duplicate Budget Definition.
  3. Enter a unique identification code for the duplicate budget in the Budget ID field.
  4. In the Organization field, type the name that will represent the top level of the duplicate budget's organizational hierarchy, such as the name of your agency. You must define a hierarchy modeled on the different levels of your organization so you can view how funds are allocated and spent at each level. Infor Public Sector uses the name in the Organization field to represent the root node of the hierarchy.
  5. Select the types of budget data to duplicate.
You can select one of these options:
    • Allocations only: Infor Public Sector copies the fund allocation data to the new budget.
    • Budget Numbers only: Infor Public Sector copies the budget allocation numbers to the new budget.
    • Allocations and Budget Numbers: Infor Public Sector copies both the fund allocation data and budget allocation numbers to the new budget.
    • None: Infor Public Sector copies neither the fund allocation data nor the budget allocation numbers to the new budget.
  6. Change any other information about the budget.
  7. Click Save.
Infor Public Sector shows a message that the budget was duplicated successfully.
