Creating accounts

The process of creating a new account depends on the type of account that you're creating.

Utility accounts

Most utility accounts are occupancy accounts, meaning that they are used to bill for services that are provided to the occupant of an address. For occupancy accounts, Infor Public Sector includes move in and move out processes that must be completed when accounts are opened or closed.

To create new occupancy accounts, you must first use the Create Address Services page to set up services at the customer's address. You then use the Manage Account page to look up the address and create an address-based account.

You can also use the Manage Account page to create identity-based, parcel-based, or property-based utility accounts. For example, an identity-based account could be used to bill a contractor for consumption based on a water meter. The meter provides consumption readings in the same manner as an address-based meter, but the consumption is billed to an identity-based account.

CDR accounts

For CDR Billing, accounts are typically created when you create new applications, cases, or licenses.

Depending on the rules defined for the application, case, or license type, Infor Public Sector first searches for an existing account that matches the information entered, such as the primary applicant and the address.

If an existing account is found, Infor Public Sector uses that account. If no account is found, Infor Public Sector creates a new one.

You can also use the Manage Account page to create new address-based, identity-based, or parcel-based accounts for CDR Billing. Property-based accounts are not supported for CDR Billing.

Sundry accounts

Use the Manage Account page to create new address-based, identity-based, parcel-based, or property-based accounts for Sundry Billing.

Aggregate accounts

Use the Manage Account page to create aggregate accounts. Aggregate accounts must be identity-based. You can then associate sub accounts with the aggregate account.
