Asset preferences

Use the Asset Preferences node in the My Infor Preferences box to define preferences for the Asset Management modules in Infor Public Sector.

The Asset Preferences node has two children, Asset Inspection Preferences and Life History Preferences.

The Asset Inspection Preferences node shows the Automatically Copy Dimensions check box. If you select this check box, dimensions such as length, width, and diameter will automatically be copied from the asset records when your create asset inspections. For example, when you create a sidewalk inspection, the length and width of the sidewalk will be copied to the inspection record.

Use the Life History Preferences node to select the information that you want to show on the Life History tab of the asset InfoViewers.

See Setting Life History preferences.

Setting the linear display unit

If your Infor Public Sector site includes linear assets such as roadways or configured linear assets, the Display Unit grid is shown when you click the Asset Preferences node.

Use this grid to select the default unit of measure for each linear asset type. These units of measure are used when showing linear information in certain contexts, such as in the Assets grid in the Asset Group InfoViewer.

Note: The unit of measure that you select here is not used in forms such as the Roadway Lookup or the Roadway InfoViewer. Those forms use the unit specified in the Top Ruler Units list in the Viewer Preferences dialog box. To open this dialog box, click the Settings button in the InfoViewer.
  • This unit is also now used for linear distances in the asset control, which is the control used to identify assets in forms such as Create Work Order. The unit that you select for the To field becomes the default unit of measure for assets in the asset control.
