Keyboard shortcuts

This topic lists the keyboard shortcuts that you can use to perform actions in Infor Public Sector. You can also use keyboard shortcuts for the standard button in Infor Public Sector.

You can press / on any page to see a list of available shortcuts for the current page. Note that you must be in command mode to show the list of shortcuts. If your cursor is in an input field, then you are in text entry mode. Press Esc on your keyboard to enter command mode. To return to text entry mode, press Ctrl+Enter or put your cursor in an input field.

Keyboard sequences

Sequence Description
G > F Jump to the Form Code field.
T > H Show or hide the application header.
T > M Show or hide the menu.
T > T Turn tooltips on or off.

Fields

Key Description
Ctrl+A Selects all the text in a field.
Shift+arrow keys Selects text beginning at the location of your cursor and moving in the direction of the arrow key.
Ctrl+C Copies selected text in a field and moves it to the Clipboard. You can insert Clipboard material elsewhere by positioning your cursor in a new field and pressing Ctrl+V.
Ctrl+X Deletes selected text in a field and moves it to the Clipboard. You can insert Clipboard material elsewhere by positioning your cursor in a new field and pressing Ctrl+V.
Ctrl+V Inserts material from the Clipboard at the location of the cursor and replaces any selected material. You can add material to the Clipboard by selecting it and pressing Ctrl+C (copy) or Ctrl+X (cut).
Ctrl+Z Undoes your last action. For example, if you accidentally delete a section of text from a Comments field, pressing Ctrl+Z restores the text.
Ctrl+Y Restores an action that you've reversed using Ctrl+Z. For example, if you're changing information in a Comments field and you use Ctrl+Z to remove your changes and temporarily view the original version, you can press Ctrl+Y to restore your changes.
Tab Moves your cursor to the next element down or to the right.
Shift+Tab Moves your cursor to the next element up or to the left.
Enter
  • Opens the popup for a field that has a popup button Popup to the right of it.
  • In a date field, pressing Enter twice enters the current date.
Shift+EnterOpen the popup for a field in a grid.
Ctrl+B In a Comments field, makes selected text bold and any new text you type at the cursor location. If the cursor is located within a word, pressing Ctrl+B makes that word bold. If the selection is already bold, pressing Ctrl+B removes bold formatting.
Ctrl+I In a Comments field, makes selected text Italic and any new text you type at the cursor location. If the cursor is located within a word, pressing Ctrl+I makes that word italic. If the selection is already italic, pressing Ctrl+I removes italic formatting.
Ctrl+U In a Comments field, underlines selected text and any new text you type at the cursor location. If the cursor is located within a word, pressing Ctrl+U underlines that word. If the selection is already underlined, pressing Ctrl+U removes underlining.
T In a date field, enters the current date. You can also press Enter twice to enter the current date.
+ In a date field, advances a date forward by one day.
- In a date field, moves a date back by one day.

List boxes

Key Description
down arrow Shows the items in the list. After the list is displayed, pressing DOWN ARROW highlights items in the list. Note that typing the first few letters of an item in the field opens the list and highlights that item in the list.
up arrow Highlights an item directly above the currently highlighted item in the list.

Check boxes

Key Description
Spacebar Selects or clears a check box. To use this shortcut the check box must be selected. You select a check box by tabbing through the elements on a page until the check box is highlighted.

Trees

Note that if you haven't already been working with the tree, you must first indicate that your keystroke applies to the tree by clicking on or around the tree.

Key Descriptions
up arrow and down arrow Highlights the node directly above or below the currently highlighted node.
right arrow Expands a highlighted node, showing all of its subnodes.
left arrow Collapses a highlighted node, hiding all of its subnodes.
Enter Selects a highlighted node. Selecting a node shows information about the node in the right pane.

Calendar popup

Key Descriptions
Enter Closes the popup and enters the selected date in the date field. To enter the current date in a date field, press Enter twice or press T.
arrow keys Selects an adjacent day.

Date fields

Key Description
+ Displays the next date.
_ Displays the previous date.
T Displays the current date.
Enter Press twice to enter the current date.

Calculator popup

Key Description
/ Divides one number by another. This key serves the same function as the Divide button in the Calculator popup.
* Multiplies one number by another. This key serves the same function as the Multiply button in the Calculator popup.
- Subtracts one number from another. This key serves the same function as the Minus button in the Calculator popup.
+ Adds a number to another number. This key serves the same function as the Plus button in the Calculator popup.
= Enters the result of your operations into the field. This key serves the same function as the Equals button in the Calculator popup.
