Creating a group project in the Network Browser

You can use the Asset Network Browser to create a group project for all mainlines displayed in the browser, or for all mainlines that are upstream or downstream from the selected asset. A group project is a group of work orders for assets that require the same type of maintenance, such as cleaning the sewer mains on a particular street. Infor Public Sector assigns a unique identification number to the group project that you can use to track it and the work orders associated with it.

  1. Open the Asset Network Browser.
  2. Click Action and select Create a Group Project for all Mainlines, Create a Group Project for Upstream Mainlines, or Create a Group Project for Downstream Mainlines.
The Create Group Project form is displayed. The assets selected from the browser are listed in the Assets grid.
  3. In the Activity field, specify the activity that will be performed on the assets that you're about to select.
  4. Under Initial Information, enter any other information for the activity, such as its scheduled start date and due date.
  5. Select any other assets to use for the group project.
  6. Click Add above the grid.
  7. Select the type of asset from the Asset Type list. Note that the list only shows asset types that are valid for the activity. The fields and grid change to reflect the asset type that you select.
  8. Enter search criteria at the top of the dialog box to locate the correct assets.
  9. Click Search. Infor Public Sector shows a list of assets that match your search criteria.
  10. Select all the assets that you want to include in the project. Note that you can open an asset into the asset InfoViewer by clicking its Asset ID link.
  11. Click Select. Infor Public Sector closes the dialog box and shows the assets in the Assets grid.
Note: You can change the order of the assets by reordering the records in the Assets grid. The order number determines the sequence in which the work orders will be generated.
  12. Click Save.
Infor Public Sector shows the group project number and a message that the group project was created successfully. Infor Public Sector generates a work order for each asset in the group project. You can click the Group Project # link to view and edit the group project in the Group Project InfoViewer.
