This table describes the access groups under Resource in the Permissions tree:

Access group Description
Ad Hoc Reporting Affects the Ad Hoc Reporting item in the Resources menu.

Includes an access group for each report category that an agency defines, with access controls for managing the reports in those categories.

Alert Grants access to the alert reason and resolution code definitions for Billing alerts on accounts and addresses.
Archive Grants access to the Lookup Archive Runs page.
Attachments Includes an access group for each EDM provider that an agency defines, with a subgroup for each document type that is associated with the provider. For each document type you can assign permissions to add, delete, list, open, and update attachments.
Note: The Add permission for a document type is the only one that is enforced during the process of creating a new record such as an asset inspection or a service request. The Delete, List, Open, and Update permissions are only enforced for attachments on existing records.
Attachments Browser Controls the ability to view attachments in the Attachment Browser (under Attachments in the Resources menu).
Banking Info Grants access to banking information for the Billing module’s direct debit functionality. Affects the Contact & Property Browser in addition to Billing forms.
Note: Access control for direct debit (the functionality that using the banking info) is under Billing > Account > Direct Debit.
Browser Affects the Contact & Property Browser item and the Map Browser item in the Resources menu.
Budget Affects the items under Budget in the Resources menu.
CASS Affects the CASS Tasks item in the Resources menu.
Contact Grants access to contact identities and contact information data along with related functionality, including creating new identities and contact information records, to forms that display contacts, such as the Contact & Property Browser and Contact InfoViewer.
Data Bundle Setup Gives access to the Data Bundle Setup form on the Resources menu.
Document Type Setup Controls access to the Document Type Setup form under Attachments in the Resources menu.
EDM Setup Controls access to the EDM Setup form under Attachments in the Resources menu.
Employee Affects the items under Employee in the Resources menu.

Grants access to set up code definitions related to employees, such as pay type, labor type, and section type.

Note: The Employee > Setup > Pay Type access group controls the pay type code definition throughout the system.
Global Code Definition Management Affects the Code Definition Management item in the Resources menu.
Note: This access group only applies to the Code Definition Management form. Permissions for adding, editing, and deleting specific code definitions are managed through each system. For example, to prevent a user from adding and deleting applicant capacity code definitions in Building Permits, you would set the permissions under Building Permits, not here.
Holidays Affects the Holidays item in the Resources menu.
Licensed Professional Affects the insurance type and contact license type code definitions.
Manufacturer and Vendor Affects the items under Manufacturer and Vendor in the Resources menu.
Rate Table Setup Affects the Rate Table item under Setup in the Billing menu.

Affects the Rate Table item under Setup in the CDR Common menu.

Scheduling Affects the items under Scheduling in the Resources menu.
Security Question Affects the secret question code definition used when creating web users for a contact information record.
Setup Grants access to resource-based and centralized code definitions, such as miscellaneous payment type.
Timesheet Affects the Employee Timesheet item under Employee in the Resources menu.

Tips and hints

  • For ad hoc reporting, create report categories around either departments or functions. The system will then generate corresponding access groups that can be more easily assigned to the appropriate roles. For example, if a Supervisors report category is created, the system creates a corresponding Supervisors access group.
