License enforcement

Agencies that adopt the concurrent user licensing model have different options for enforcing license limitations.

With the concurrent license count feature, you can set a maximum number of concurrent users for each license. When all licenses are in use, you can either display a warning to additional users or you can prevent additional users from signing in.

To enable this feature, select the AGENCY > CONCURRENTLICENSE node in the Hansen8 configuration. Set the Enabled attribute to True and set the severity level. There are two options for the severity level:

  • Warning: Users will see a warning but they can still sign in. Not supported if you are using Infor Public Sector with single sign on.
  • Error: A new user cannot sign in until a current user signs out.

If the concurrent license count feature is not enabled, then any number of users can sign in concurrently. To track license usage, Infor Public Sector provides a lookup form called User Auditing that you can use to monitor when users sign in and out.

Select System > Security > User Auditing. Infor Public Sector shows a list of users who have signed in, indicating the time of each user’s most recent sign-in and sign-out. You can click a user name in the grid to see more details about the user’s recent activity.

Infor also provides a set of reports that agencies can run to monitor their license usage. The reports can be found in the Reports folder in the File Explorer. A set of Crystal reports is available in the CrystalXI\Core folder, and a set of SSRS reports is in the SQLReporting\Core folder.
