Creating a new version of a property

You can create a new version of an existing property. For example, if an apartment complex is torn down and a new one is built in its place, the new structure would have the same property ID. Although they share a property ID, the complexes are two unique structures. The previous structure has significant historical information associated with it that must be maintained. The new structure must have new permits and other government documentation associated with it. When you create a new version of a property, the most recent property is designated as the current one. Older property versions can’t be made current again, and only current properties can be edited.

Note: The Action button is displayed only if you're working with the most current version of the property. The Current check box will also be selected.
  1. Load the property record you want into the Property InfoViewer.
  2. Click Action and select Create New Version.
A message is displayed indicating that creating a new version of the property will cause the active property to be expired.
  3. Click Yes.
Infor Public Sector shows a message indicating that a new version of the property has been created and increases the property's version number by one. If the old property doesn't already have an expiration date, Infor Public Sector assigns one using today's date. The Current check box remains selected for the new property and is cleared for the old property. All associated information from the old property, such as addresses, parcels, and contacts, is transferred to the new property. You can edit this information as required. Note that older property versions can’t be edited or made current again.
