Troubleshooting

This topic provides troubleshooting tips for the AutoComplete service.

Checking the service

To check the status of your AutoComplete service, open the Windows Services on the server and find the service called "Infor Public Sector Auto Complete." The Startup Type for the service should be "Automatic."

Checking the configuration

To review your configuration, open the Configuration Editor and select the AutoComplete configuration in your Infor Public Sector application directory. Select the root AUTOCOMPLETE node and ensure that the service URL, provider, user name, and password are correct, and that the Enable attribute is set to True. These are the only attributes that are required, but your agency may have added additional attributes. See the Appendix for details.

Pinging the service

The AutoComplete service includes a Ping method that you can use to verify that the service is available. To ping the service, open a web browser and enter the service URL followed by the word “Ping,” as in this example:

http://IPSServer:9222/AutoComplete/Ping

If the request is successful, the service will return a text file listing the components for which AutoComplete is enabled.

Checking the firewall

If you are unable to ping the AutoComplete service, first check your firewall. The port used for the AutoComplete service must be open, so you may need to create an inbound rule to open the port.

AutoComplete logging

You can look up logs for the AutoComplete service in the Windows Event Viewer.

In a stand-alone installation, you can also use the Logging configuration in the AutoComplete application directory to turn on Infor Public Sector logging for the AutoComplete service. To write log entries to a file in the AutoComplete directory, select the root Logging node and set the Logging Destination attribute to TextFile. By default log entries are written to a file called NGEvents.txt in the Log directory.
