Defining incident constraints

Incident constraints define the basic information that can be recorded for a particular type of incident. Constraints indicate whether specific pieces of information are required, required to complete an incident, available, display-only, or not present. For example, you might want to make location information required for an incident type, but vehicle details aren't present. If vehicle details aren't present, Infor Public Sector won't show the Vehicle Details grid in Create Incident or the Incident InfoViewer.

  1. Select Incident > Incident Types.
  2. In the Incident Types tree, browse to the correct incident type.
  3. Select the Incident Constraints node under the incident type.
  4. Enable editing in the grid and select the constraint you want to edit.
  5. Select the option you want to use from the Setting list.
Not all options are available for each constraint. For tasks, for example, you can select Available, Display Only, or Not Present, but you can't make tasks required.
  6. Click Save.
