Recording material usage

How you record material usage in the mobile app depends on how your agency has configured Infor Public Sector.

Because material usage is based on parts in the Inventory module, your agency must specify how material usage relates to inventory transactions, known as the costing method. There are three options:

  • Auto Record: Infor Public Sector automatically creates an issue transaction for the parts specified in the material usage record. This means that there must be a sufficient quantity of parts on hand.
  • Check Issues: Infor Public Sector checks for an existing issue transaction. If your agency is using this costing method, then an issue transaction must already have been created in Infor Public Sector before you can record material usage in the mobile app.
  • No Checks: Infor Public Sector does not check inventory transactions.
Note: For the No Checks costing method, you must always specify a rate when recording material usage in the mobile app.

Parts in Infor Public Sector can have standard costs defined for them, which will be used if you don't specify a rate when recording material usage in Infor Public Sector. However, the standard cost is not used in Infor Field Inspector. If you don't specify a rate when recording material usage in the mobile app, the total cost will be 0.
