Using the timer

The Infor Field Inspector app includes a timer function that you can use to record the time you spend on service request inspections, asset inspections, and work orders.

To start the timer, tap Start in the service request, asset inspection, or work order viewer. If the start date and time have not yet been recorded, the current date and time are captured automatically. For example, the date and time when you start the timer for a service request inspection are recorded in the Start Date field on the service request. The start date is not updated if this information has already been recorded.

To stop the timer, tap Stop. Note that the date and time when you stop the timer are not recorded. For example, the closed date for a work order is not recorded until you close the work order, and the resolved date for a service request is recorded when you resolve the request.

The timer is hidden after you record results or close a record, such as when you close a work order or record results in the service request viewer.

Depending on your system configuration, the timer can also be used to record resource usage. If automated time tracking is enabled, the app displays a resource usage screen when you stop the timer and automatically populates the "from" and "to" dates for the resource usage.
