Sync batches

Sync batches are the primary records that are used to track GIS synchronization runs and report the results. A sync batch is created each time the GIS Feature Synchronization task runs in the Batch Manager. It has a number of sync audits as children, each of which analyzes a specific pair of corresponding records in the two datasets.

There are two types of synchronization runs, standard and continuation. A standard run is the basic type of run that you schedule in the Batch Manager. A continuation run is used for further processing of sync audits from a previous run.

A sync run proceeds in several stages, which vary depending on the type of run and the configuration of the GIS Feature Synchronization task. For example, a report-only run doesn't include the Import stage. A sync run can include these stages:

  • ExportExternal: Data is exported from the GIS.
  • ExportInternal: Data is exported from Infor Public Sector.
  • Analyze: The two sets of records are compared and sync audits are created.
  • Import: Records are updated in one or both databases. Sync integration records are created in this stage.
  • AdvancedProcessing: After sync formulas are executed.

Use Lookup Sync Batch and the Sync Batch InfoViewer to review sync batches. The Sync Stages tab of the InfoViewer shows the stages that were completed. The batch's associated sync audits are displayed on these tabs:

  • Sync Audits - All: Shows all sync audits associated with the current batch.
  • Sync Audits - Success: Shows sync audits for which processing has been completed successfully. The records in the two databases are in sync and no further action is needed.
  • Sync Audits - Error: Shows sync audits that returned errors.
  • Sync Audits - Ignored: Shows sync audits that have been ignored.
  • Sync Audits - In Progress: Shows sync audits that require further processing.
  • Sync Audits - Intervention: Shows sync audits that require user action.

You can use the Action button in the Sync Batch InfoViewer to process or ignore one or more sync audits, to assign responsibility for sync audits, and to resolve data conflicts.
