Preference attributes

The PREFERENCES node has one or more preference nodes as children. Each of these nodes is a separate function of the Infor GIS application. By creating a preference node and assigning one or more child Pref nodes to it, you are enabling the application to turn each layer on or off for that function.

Attribute Description
name Name of the preference. For custom preferences, this is the name that you will enter in the custompref attribute of the item in the MapDrawer configuration for which the preferences are defined. For role preferences, this is the name of the access role the preferences apply to.
preftype Type of preference. You can specify one of these values:
  • custom: Sets layer preferences for Map Drawer access points.

For example, accessing the map after selecting a water main under Asset Management might show layers related to water.

  • main: Sets layer preferences for the main map.
  • role: Sets layer preferences based on the roles that users are assigned to in Access Control.
  • group: Sets layer preferences for the Group elements.
  • legend: Sets layer preferences for the Legends elements.
Note: A dataset can have multiple preferences defined for it. If so, role preferences take precedence over custom preferences, which in turn take precedence over main preferences.
