Auto generating associated records

Agencies must often create other types of records in Infor Public Sector to respond to the problems identified in service requests. For example, a service request reporting a code violation might result in a case being opened in the Code Enforcement module, or a request involving an asset might lead to a work order or an inspection. If it is expected that a request type will frequently require you to create work orders, asset inspections, cases, or one-off charges, you can set up rules for auto generating those records from service requests.

  1. While creating or editing a request type, select the Association tab.
  2. Select the "Allowed" check box for each type of record you want to create from a service request.
  3. Select the correct "How to Create" option for each type of record.
  4. Select the correct "When to Create/Prompt" option.
The elements under "When to Create/Prompt" are only enabled if you select Prompt User to Create or Create Automatically under "How to Create". If you select Create at Resolution, you can also specify a code in the Resolution Code field. Infor Public Sector will either create the record or prompt the user when you resolve a request with the specified code.
  5. Under "Items to Include" specify any defaults you want to use for the work orders, inspections, cases, or charges that are created.
You can specify a default activity type and a standard work order for work orders; an asset type for inspections; a case type; or a one-off charge type. You can also use the check boxes to indicate which information you want to copy from the service request.
  6. Click Save.
