Recording a code violation in an inspection

When performing an inspection, you may notice one or more code violations. You can use Record Inspection Results or the Inspection InfoViewer to add violations to the inspection one at a time or all at once. When adding multiple violations at once, you can assign them the same information, such as a status code and location details. For example, you may notice exposed wires and misuse of equipment during an electrical inspection. To save time, you can add both violations to the inspection simultaneously and assign them a status of Unresolved.

  1. Begin to record inspection results, or load an inspection in the InfoViewer.
  2. On the Code Violations tab, click Add above the grid.

A dialog box is displayed. The Code Violations Lookup Result grid shows all available code violations for this application type, and the Violation Date fields show the current date and time.

To locate a specific violation, you can type search criteria in the fields at the top of the dialog box and click Search. Only the violations that match your search criteria are displayed in the Code Violation Lookup Result grid.

  3. Under Code Violation Lookup Result, select all the code violations that you want to assign to this inspection.
You can select more than one violation.
  4. Specify any other information about the code violations.
You can change the date the violations were discovered, record their current status and status date, and add comments or additional location information.
  5. Click Save or Save & Close.
If you click Save, you must click the Close button to close the dialog box, not Save & Close. If you click Save & Close after you click Save, Infor Public Sector will add another instance of the code violation. The code violation is added each time you click Save or Save & Close.
