Adding a model home option

Model home options are used to adjust the characteristic values of a base model to create variations of that model. Although you can define options for individual building applications, defining options at the project application level makes those options available to every child application associated with the project.

  1. Open the Model dialog box for the model home to which you want to add an option.
  2. In the Model dialog box, under Options, click Add above the grid.
  3. In the Model Title field, specify a model home name for the option that you're defining.
  4. Under Characteristics, specify values for each characteristic that the option has.
The characteristics that are displayed depend on the characteristic group that you've associated with the application. To set a value, enable editing in the grid and select the characteristic you want to edit. Then specify the appropriate value and click Save. The value must be set to the amount by which you want to alter the base model, not the new value. For example, if a model home has a heated area of 1200 square feet and you want an option to allow for 1300 feet, you would specify 100 as the heated area characteristic value. Depending on your agency's policies and the model home with which you're working, you may not need to edit all of the values.
  5. Provide any other information about this option in the Comments field.
  6. Click Save.
Infor Public Sector adds the option to the model home and shows it in the grid. You can click the Option Model Title link to view summary information about an option.
  7. Click Save.
Infor Public Sector saves the model homes and lists each option in the Models grid. You can now use the option for any building application that uses the model home.
