Creating a group of new cases

You can create one or more new cases based on an existing case. For example, you might want to create a batch of cases that have similar information but different locations. The new cases can have the same site as the current case, have no specified site, or have a site that you either enter manually or select on a map.

  1. Load the case you want in the Case InfoViewer.
Note: You can also create a group of cases after starting a new case. Click the Group Add link after saving the new case.
  2. Click Action and select Group Add.
  3. Specify this information:
    Create as a Group
Select this check box if you want the new cases to belong to a case group. When you select this check box, the Group field is displayed. Use this field to specify an existing group or to enter the name of a new case group.
    Case Type
Specify the type of case that you want to add. The type of the current case is filled in automatically, but you can specify another case type.
    Create Link to Source
Indicates whether the new cases will be linked as children to the current case.
    Copy Information
Select the check boxes for the information that you want to copy to the new cases.
    Copy Links
Select the check boxes for the links that you want to copy to the new cases.
    Primary Site
Select the option that indicates how you want to select the primary sites for the new cases.

You can select Copy Primary Site, Enter Primary Sites, or None.

If you selected Copy Primary Site or None, enter the number of cases you want to create in the # to Create field.

If you selected Enter Primary Sites, you can enter the primary sites for the new cases manually in the grid under Primary Site, or you can click Map Drawer and select Show Case to choose sites from the map. Infor Public Sector will add a case for each primary site that you select.

  4. Click Save.
Infor Public Sector creates the new cases using the information you indicated and assigns them the initial milestone from the specified case type. You can use the Case InfoViewer to view and edit these cases as required.
