Configuring POS printers

  1. To add a device in Epson's OPOS ADK utility, notice which port the POS printer is connected to. Navigate to the corresponding port in the Port tree, right-click, and select Add New Device.
  2. Select POSPrinter from the Device Class list.
  3. On the next form, select the printer model from the Select Device Name list. Pay close attention to the Select detailed model list, as it usually contains information about the port type the device uses.

After selecting the device model you can specify a logical device name, which Infor Public Sector uses to locate the device. In the Add New LDN field, type PRINTER, which is the logical name that Infor Public Sector uses.

  4. Next, configure the communication settings. Most Epson printers have a serial baud rate of 19200 when using a COM port. Refer to the specific device manual for support with the communication settings. After settings are entered, click the CheckHealth Interactive button to test the device configuration.
  5. After the Check Health form is displayed, click Start.
A test print of roughly 4 lines should print from the printer. If you select the Slip option button under Station, you'll be prompted to insert a piece of paper into the slip mechanism. The printer will then feed the paper, print a test print and release the page. The printer is now configured and should show up in the device tree.
