Projecting a penalty

If you want to know the amount of the penalty for an account's unpaid charges at a future date, you can project the penalty. This is helpful if a customer asks what the penalty will be if he or she waits a certain number of days before making a payment. You can also use the Bill InfoViewer or the Line Item InfoViewer to project penalties for specific bills or line items.

  1. Select Billing > Manage Account.
  2. Load the account you want.
  3. On the Maintenance tab, under Delinquency, click Project Penalty.
    The Project Penalty link can also be displayed in the Quick Links panel on the Summary tab.
  4. Specify a date in the Project Penalty Through field.
  5. Click Project.
    Infor Public Sector indicates that the projected penalty run was successful and shows the dollar amount of the penalty as of the specified date. Note that even though you’ve created a projection and not an actual penalty, Infor Public Sector still creates a new penalty run record that you can look up in Lookup Penalty Run.
  6. If you want to project penalties for any other dates, specify a new date and click Project for each additional penalty.
