Aggregate bills

An aggregate bill consolidates charges from multiple sub bills into a single master bill. The sub bills are created for aggregate sub accounts, and then the master bill is created for the master account.

Aggregate accounts

When you open a master bill in the Bill InfoViewer, you can view the sub bills on the Sub Bills tab. For a master bill, the line item amounts and account snapshot balances on the Summary tab, and the bill balances on the Bill tab, include the balances from the master bill and all sub bills. The Line Items tab only shows the line items for the master bill itself. You must open the individual sub bills to see their line items.

When viewing an aggregate account in the Manage Account page, you can click the View Sub Bills link in the Sub Accounts panel to see the associated sub bills.

When you open a sub bill in the Bill InfoViewer, the master account number and master bill number are shown below the sub account number and the sub bill number.

Each sub bill has one of these aggregate statuses:

  • Aggregated: The sub bill is linked to a master bill.
  • Disassociated: The sub bill was formerly aggregated to a master bill, but the sub account has been unlinked from the master account.
  • Queued: The sub bill has been created, but it is not yet linked to a master bill.

When sub bills are in the Queued status, they are excluded from penalty and delinquency processing. After a sub bill is linked to a master bill, its status changes to Aggregated and its due date and delinquent date are updated to match the dates from the master bill. The penalty date and discount expire date of the sub bill are recalculated based on the master bill's due date.

If you undo an aggregate master bill, the sub bills are unlinked from the master bill, and the aggregate status of each sub bill changes to Queued.

If a sub account is disassociated from a master account, the aggregate status of the sub bills changes from Queued or Aggregated to Disassociated.
