Defining delinquency actions

Delinquency actions represent the steps that an agency takes to deal with delinquent accounts, such as shutting off account services or sending delinquency notices. Infor Public Sector will apply the actions defined for a milestone to accounts when they reach that milestone. For example, if a milestone has a service request type associated with it, Infor Public Sector will add a request of that type to each account that reaches the milestone.

To define delinquency actions, expand the node for the milestone you're working with in the Delinquency Setup tree and select the node for the type of action you want to add. When you select the action node, Infor Public Sector shows a grid in the right panel. To add your action, click Add above the grid, enter your information, and click Save.

In some of these grids you can use the Condition Formula column to enter a formula that determines whether Infor Public Sector will perform the action, and you can select one of four different events for the action from the list in the Perform On column: Decrement, Entry, ResolvedDueToFullPayment, or ResolvedFromFormulaOrBelowAmt. For example, if you select Entry for a service request, Infor Public Sector will create the request when an account reaches this milestone, and if you select Decrement the service request will be created when an account is decremented out of the milestone.

The Delinquency Actions node under a delinquency scheme shows a summary of all actions that are defined for that scheme. Note that all information under the Delinquency Actions node is display-only.

You can define these types of actions for each milestone.

  • The Service Requests node lists request types that Infor Public Sector will add to accounts that reach this milestone.
  • The One-Off Charges node lists one-off charges that Infor Public Sector will add to accounts that reach this milestone.

See Creating a one-off line item type.

  • The Alerts node defines alerts that Infor Public Sector will add to accounts that reach this milestone.
  • The Notices node defines notices to be sent to accounts that reach this milestone. Each notice type uses a correspondence process setup to define the information that will be pulled from the database to generate the notice and how the notice is formatted. You can create a new correspondence process setup while adding a notice to a milestone, or you can select an existing one.
  • The Logs node lists log entries that Infor Public Sector will add to accounts that reach this milestone.
  • The Deposit Demand node is used to define deposit charges that will be added to accounts that reach this milestone. Deposit charges must first be defined as line item types in Line Item Setup.
  • The One-Off Penalty node defines one-off penalties that will be assess to accounts that reach this milestone.
  • Use the Credit Rating node to assign credit points when accounts reach this milestone. Note that credit points are assigned to the primary account contact rather than the account record. Using Credit Rating Setup, you can define a series of credit rating levels based on accumulated points. Points are added for adverse events such as late payments or bounced checks, so a higher number of points indicates a worse credit rating.
