Generating work orders with no asset type

By default, you must specify an asset type when generating work orders from unit maintenance schedules. You can also configure your system so that an asset type is not required. For example, you may want to generate work orders for a particular activity for all asset types.

To configure the asset type requirement, use the Content Manager. In the Menu Groupings tree, browse to Asset Management > Maintenance > Task Unit Schedule Maintenance > Unit Schedule Maintenance. This will show the parameters for the Unit Maintenance Schedule task as they are displayed in the Batch Manager. Open the page in the Page Editor and select the asset control to show its properties.

Under Behavior, you will see an AssetTypeRequired property that is set to True by default. If you do not want to require an asset type, change the setting to False.
