Contact information records

Contact information records store the actual contact details for individuals and organizations represented by contact identity records, such as phone numbers and email addresses.

A contact can have more than one contact information record, because there might be more than one type of contact information, such as both home and office.

You can create contact information records in several ways. This topic explains how to create contact information records on the fly, while working with contacts in Infor Public Sector. You can also create contact information records in the Contact and Property Browser.

  • To create a contact information record while you're creating a new contact, select the Contact Information tab in the Create Contact dialog box and add the contact information to the grid. Then specify the type of contact in the Contact Type field, specify the address or other contact information, and click Save.
  • To create a contact information record for an existing contact, load the contact into the contact fields on the page you're working with and click the Name link to open the Contact InfoViewer. Then select the Contact Information tab, click Add above the grid,.
  • You can also click the popup button to the right of the Name field in the Contact group box to open the Search Contact dialog box. After you've found the contact you want, select the name in the grid, click Action, and select Add Contact Detail.
  • Finally, you can create a new contact information record by specifying an existing contact name and a new address, phone number, or email address in the Contact group box. When you click the popup button to open the Search Contact dialog box, Infor Public Sector shows the contact name that you specified in the Contacts grid, and an "Associate" link under the grid. For example, if you entered a new address of 1455 Main St. for with an existing contact name, the link will say Associate at 1455 Main St. You can then click this link to create the new contact information record.
