Adding an annotation

To add an annotation you select the template that you want to use and then add your drawing on the map. You can also link your drawing to a record in the Infor Public Sector database. These steps explain the different ways in which drawings can be linked to database records.

  1. In the Map Browser, click the Tools button and select Drawings.
You can also right-click a map marker and select Show Drawing. If you open the annotation tool from a map marker, any annotations you add will be linked to the associated record.
  2. Select the template picker tab in the annotation tool.
The template picker shows a set of available templates for points, lines, and polygons. The name of this tab and the available templates depend on your agency's configuration.
  3. Select the template that you want to use for your drawing.
  4. Add your drawing to the map.
If only one map marker is active, then the drawing will be linked to that record automatically.
  5. Select the attribute inspector tab in the annotation tool and enter the drawing's attributes.
To link the drawing to a record in your database, select the record that you want from the Owner list. The list shows each marker that is currently active in the map. For example, if five addresses are active, the list shows those five addresses. The default value for the Owner list is Global, meaning that the drawing is not linked to a database record.
