Maintenance schedules

If you perform the same maintenance activity on an asset or a group of assets on a regular basis, you can create a maintenance schedule.

A unit maintenance schedule specifies a type of preventive maintenance to be performed on a single asset, such as tuning up a pickup truck every six months. A group maintenance schedule specifies a type of maintenance to be performed on an asset group, such as tuning up a fleet of pickup trucks every six months.

Each maintenance schedule specifies an asset or asset group, an activity to be performed, and the interval at which work orders are to be generated. Unit maintenance schedules generate work orders, and group maintenance schedules generate group projects. You can use the lookups to generate work orders or group projects from maintenance schedules, and you can set up tasks in the Batch Manager to generate work orders and group projects automatically.
